My name is Ian Bowden and I started IMB Freelance to increase my income and make better use of my qualifications and spare time.
I worked for Cornwall Council Music Service (now known as Music Cornwall) for sixteen years, during which time I gained a number of qualifications and a wealth of experience. I was an integral part of the administration team, particularly in respect to assisting colleagues and managers with information technology. In latter years, I took on duties of a departed manager in addition to an already heavy administrative workload. Sadly, my dedication was never sufficiently appreciated, and this ultimately led to my resignation in April 2010.
Soon after I started working for Interserve Facilities Management, and now have a nine-to-five job I enjoy and feel valued in. However, I had to take a significant drop in salary and feel the work I am doing does not make best use of my skills. The lack of finance also means I go out less and therefore have an abundance of spare time!
I therefore decided to advertise myself in a freelance capacity in evenings and on weekends. I feel I can offer individuals and organisations an ad hoc service at a fair price, assisting them with one off projects or more regular support.
The snowflake logo does hold a personal reference, but professionally represents my belief that every customer is unique in their needs and deserves a tailored service. It also symbolizes the intricate knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications in which I gained my ECDL Expert certificate.
My charging rate is £8 per hour for any aspect of my services, billed in quarter hour (or part thereof) increments. Any additional fees (such as materials) will be specified before commencement of work.
